A club project
Traditional Cuisine House
The Trongsa Poenlop Thuendral Club (TPTC) is formed by recipients of the Trongsa Penlop Scholarship and the King's Scholarship, bestowed by His Majesty The King. The Traditional Cuisine House is one of its projects.
Traditional Cuisine House
The Traditional Cuisine House sits within the One Gewog One Product (OGOP) outlet at the Ecological Park in Changangkha, Thimphu — an initiative of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen to encourage and sustain rural artisans and their products.
Her Majesty granted a section of the OGOP complex to the TPTC, which started the restaurant to generate revenue that sustains its work supporting the community of Trongsa Penlop scholars.
Unemployed youth are taught to appreciate traditional skills and products, and given on-the-job training to build professional careers of their own.
