Scholar story
From a scholarship to the health service in Lunana
“It enabled me to become a nurse and return to serve the very community I call home.”
With the Trongsa Penlop Scholarship, Dema completed a three-year Diploma in Nursing at Acharya Institute in Bangalore, India. She then returned home and joined the health service in Lunana, one of Bhutan's most remote regions. For the past six years she has cared for the people of her own community there.
